With Joan Mir confirmed at Repsol Honda this Friday, there is only one spot left in the official MotoGP teams: specifically at Monster Energy Yamaha.
The Japanese team has confirmed Fabio Quartararo for 2026, but Álex Rins has not yet renewed his contract. A few days ago, Sky Italia reported that the Spanish rider is expected to be announced next week, before the British GP.
Additionally, there are seven other seats available, all in satellite teams: Gresini/Ducati, LCR Honda, and Trackhouse Racing/Aprilia each have one vacancy, while Pramac/Yamaha and VR46/Ducati have not confirmed any riders yet.
The confirmed debut of Fermín Aldeguer, either at Gresini or VR46, means that at least one of the current riders will not have a place for 2025. This could be Augusto Fernández, with rumors suggesting he might join GYTR GRT Yamaha in the World Superbike Championship.
