Yamaha has been in MotoGP for several years, with a successful track record. Throughout its history, it has had some of the most prominent riders in the championship’s history, sometimes simultaneously – as was the case with Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi.
Lin Jarvis, the current team manager, had to deal with the tensions between Lorenzo and Rossi. Despite everything, he admitted to TNT Sports that he prefers to have that kind of strong duo to attack successes:
– The most difficult moment was with Vale and Jorge together, and the division of the garage. But it turned out to be our most victorious phase. We won several triple crowns. In the end, I would always choose two demanding riders instead of two easy ones.
The Briton also emphasized: ‘There are many demanding people, many big egos in this championship. But you need that to become world champion. That’s the reality‘.
