María Herrera of Team Klint Forward Factory achieved a dramatic victory at the Women’s World Circuit Speed Championship in Donington Park, securing her third triumph in the WorldWCR. The Spanish rider emerged victorious after an thrilling duel on the final lap, surpassing Ana Carrasco (Evan Bros. Racing Yamaha Team) by just 0.199 seconds.
Herrera took the lead from the start, setting the tone for an intensely contested race. Carrasco presented a determined challenge, but Herrera remained strong despite the immense pressure throughout the race. Sara Sanchez (511 Terra&Vita Racing Team) completed the podium, securing her third third-place finish of the season.
The race was marked by several key moments, including an exciting battle for the final podium spot between Beatriz Neila (Ampito / Pata Prometeon Yamaha) and Sanchez. Unfortunately, the crashes of Ornella Ongaro and Roberta Ponziani from the Yamaha Motoxracing WCR Team disrupted the race, leaving Neila and Sanchez to fight for the final podium position.
Herrera’s victory further propels her into the championship lead, with Carrasco now seven points behind. The series continues to offer thrilling action, and the battle for the championship is far from over.
