Competing at home, Ivo Lopes will continue his season in the Spanish Superbike Championship (ESBK), where he competes in the main class – ESBK. Estoril hosts the third round of the season.
The man from BMW EasyRace Team comes from a bittersweet journey in Valencia, where he retired from the first race before triumphing on Sunday. Now, in Estoril, he will seek more victories – vital for his aspirations to renew the title.
In a statement, Lopes said: ‘After this break of more than a month, we are back to competition and playing at home. The motivation is high and I count on the massive presence of the Portuguese public to give me the maximum support in the stands of Estoril‘.
As for the objectives, the rider couldn’t have made them clearer, aiming for the top step of the podium: ‘It will be a very challenging weekend because of the heat, but we are ready to fight for victory in both races and accumulate as many points as possible to compete for the title defense in the SBK, in the Spanish speed championship‘.
