According to the website Crash.net, it has already been decided that in the move to Ducati, the engineer will not accompany the rider in the move to the factory team – inheriting Marco Rigamonti, who currently works with Enea Bastianini. It was with him that Andrea Iannone obtained, in 2016, Ducati’s first victory in the Gigi Dall’Igna era.
The Italian engineer then returned to the Ducati factory team to work with Bastianini last year, with the duo winning the Malaysian GP.
Before the Dutch GP, Márquez made it clear that he only asked Ducati to bring one mechanic – Javi Ortiz, who was also the only one to come with him from Honda – leaving the definition of the rest of the team to the manufacturer’s discretion.
