Maverick Viñales secured third place for the start of the two races at the Dutch GP in MotoGP this Saturday. He qualified third, only behind the Ducatis of Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac).
The Spaniard was 0.411s off pole position, unable to match the superiority of the Borgo Panigale bikes. After the session, he said to the official broadcast that he even had some issues during his fast lap:
– It’s hard to fight and to put the bike inside the Ducati squad, but we always try to make a good qualifying. I had a few problems with the brakes during the lap, which now we need to solve for the race. However, I’m really happy, I’m enjoying a lot the track, the layout, the people.
The Sprint race will take place this afternoon, and Viñales talked about his approach: ‘We’ll try to make a really good race, trying to be fast from the beginning and just trying to enjoy because not many times you have this beautiful weather here in Assen. So we will try to enjoy and to make a good show. Thanks to everyone for being here and support us’.
